Hi, I'm Travis Corpening, and I'm about to
teach you, how to tryout for the D-League.
Here we are at Carolina Beach Recreation Center.
And what I want to do first of all, is tell
you, that the first thing to do when you're
trying out for any team, is, you want to put
in the work ahead of time, the weeks and months
ahead of time before the actual tryout date.
Now, once you've put in all the work, gotten
all the drills out of the way, and you've
increased your talent, you've increased your
skill level, what you want to do is, you want
to get a- find a team to actually tryout for.
Easy, you can go to websites, the NBA has
a NBDL website link, once you go to that link,
you can find out which teams are in your area.
Once you find a team in your area, you want
to find out on the website, which day- what's
the dates for their tryouts. After you find
out that, they'll probably have a registration
cost, you get that out the way, and find some
way to get to the tryout. Now, before you
get there, you want to make sure- each NBDL
team actually has drills, just like any other
tryouts, they have drills, and you want to
be in shape, because trying out for the D-league,
is not like trying out for a middle school
team or a elementary school team, you're actually
playing against guy that their skill level,
that's been playing just as long, if not longer
than you have. So you want to come in shape
and ready to perform. There you have it, trying
out for the D-league.
