May 13, 2011 Poland's major trade unions association NSZZ Solidarnosc plans to organize big protests in Warsaw on July 1, timing them so as to disturb the celebrations of Poland taking up the EU presidency, the daily Rzeczpospolita writes citing Solidarnosc' national commission member Krzysztof Dosla. According to Solidarnosc central authorities, there will be some 30,000-40,000 protesters in Warsaw on the day. Unionists demand a raise of minimal wage, a provisional lowering of excise tax on fuels and an extension of social benefits, the daily found out. Source: The Warsaw Voice
