May 13, 2011 Companies spent 1.63 billion zlotys on advertising in Poland in Q1, up by 2.7% year on year and also higher by 1% than in Q1 of record 2008, data from media house Starlink show. The biggest increase, by 20.9% was noted in the internet. TV segment recorded a 1.8% increase but main stations including public TVP and private TVN and Polsat suffered declines as theme channels are expanding on the market and currently account for 16% of TV ad market. Radio segment gained 4.1%, while daily press, magazines, outdoor and cinema ad segments declined y/y. Source: The Warsaw Voice
