Bread / Bred
Bread -> a food made from flour, water, and usually yeast, mixed together and baked e.g. Do you bake your own bread?
Bred (past tense of breed) -> to keep animals for the purpose of producing young animals in a controlled way e.g. Amstaff are bred for their fighting instincts
Pane / Pain
Pane -> a flat piece of glass, used in a window or door e.g. A window pane.
Pain -> a feeling of physical suffering caused by injury or illness e.g. I felt a sharp pain in my arm.
Red / Read
Red -> colour e.g red lipstick, red blood.
Read -> to look at words or symbols and understand what they mean e.g. Now I'm reading a very interesting book.
Gait / Gate
Gait-> a particular way of walking e.g. I walked with a slow gait.
Gate -> a part of a fence or outside wall that is fixed at one side and opens and closes like a door e.g. John, please close the garden gate.
Dean /Dene
Dean-> an official of high rank in a college or university who is responsible for the organization of a department or departments e.g. He is the new dean of the Faculty of Economy.
Dene -> A sandy tract or dune by the seashore e.g. Just over the dene and you will see the sea.
Be / Bee
Be-> used to say something about a person, thing, or state, to show a permanent or temporary quality, state, job, etc. e.g. He is tall.
Bee-> a yellow and black flying insect that makes honey and can sting you e.g. I was stung by a bee.
